User Configuration

The purpose of this document is to explain the User Configuration sections of www.transport4.com.  The features and tools for each section will be covered.  There is also a section to explain what functions administrators can perform on accounts.

If you are a new user that needs to get added to T4, please reach out to your company administrator or T4 (info@transport4.com or 888.844.9404). If you are an admin having issues with setting up a user, please reach out to the T4 helpdesk.

What is User Configuration?

The User Configuration section allows you to control and manage many aspects of your Transport4 experience, such as changing your password, updating contact information, setting Auto Report/Push Options, and accessing Lookup Codes.  The most often used section is Auto Reports/Push Options.
Administrators can work with these features on other accounts as well as their own.  In addition to the basic configuration, administrators can search to find other users, add PSS rights, add Carrier Contact Roles, add Users, copy Users, and edit Users.

Sections of User Configuration

User Configuration is broken out into six different sections.  Each section, User Config, Contact Info, User Activity, Push Options, Services, and Lookup Codes will be shown below.
To access the User Configuration sections, hover over the cogwheel (1), and choose the section that you need to work with.

User Config

The “User Configuration” screen allows you to view your Username, the Name on the account, Status, Employed By, Password Expiration information, Last Login, Last Inquiry, Last Push, Last Browser Used, Screen Resolution, Failed Login Attempts, and Last Failed Login.  The areas that you can take action on are changing your password, changing your name, and adding a Carrier Contact Role.  

1. Change Password – To change your password, click the “Change Password” link and a new window will open.  Enter your “Current Password” and then enter your “New Password” two times, then click “Save”. You will see a message that says “Password has been successfully changed.” if your password was saved.

2. Change Name – To change the name on your account, click “Change Name” and a new window will open. You can change either the First Name, Last Name, or both.  Once you have made the changes, click “Save”.  If your name was changed, you will see a “Name has been changed successfully” message at the top of the screen.

3. Add Carrier Contact Role – Carrier Contact Role is a function used specifically by Colonial.  If you perform a role with Colonial that is different than your designated Transport4 permissions, you can add a Carrier Contact Role.  Colonial will use this information if it needs to contact someone at your company. 
   1. To add a “Carrier Contact Role” click “Add Carrier Contact Role” and choose from the “Available Roles” on the left.  Click the role that you would like to add and use the arrow key to move it to the “Assigned Roles” on the right.  When finished, click “Save”.  Once the role has been added you will see a “Carrier Contact Role change(s) saved” message at the top of the screen.

​User Config - Administrators:
 
As an administrator, you can make the changes listed above to your account and other user’s accounts.  The User Config screen will look a little different for an administrator.  There will be a Search option that will allow you to find other user’s accounts. You will also be able to add a user, copy a user, change a user’s password, change the user’s name on the account, and edit the user, including granting Pipeline System Access.

1. Pipeline System Access - Pipeline System Access allows you to see the permissions that you have, including the Carrier, Company, User Type, Product, and Locations. If you need to make changes to any of these permissions, please contact your company administrator or the Transport4 Help Desk.

Admin User Search Screen:

 

Clicking the Search link will open a User Search page where the Admin can then search users based on Basic Search criteria or click the Advanced Search link for more options.  Both are shown below:

1. Carrier
2. Operator
3. Company:  This will allow you to search for a user based on the companies that the user has access to.
4. Employed By:  This allows you to search for a User based on who they are employed by. 
5. Location
6. User Type
7. Carrier Contact role
8. Username
9. First Name
10. Last Name
11. Email Address
12. Phone

Advanced User Search

The Advanced Search allows the Administrator to search on all fields included in the Basic Search plus the 12 additional fields listed below:

1. PSS Assigned
2. Function
3. Push Types
4. Acct Status
5. Carrier Access
6. Company Access
7. User Agreement Version
8. Last Login
9. Created Date
10. Last Inquiry Executed
11. Last Push Sent
12. Password Expire Date
