The purpose of this article is to explain how to set up an Auto Report (also known as a Push Option). The steps to add a Push will be covered below.
What is a Push?
A Push, or Auto Report, is an automatically generated report based on the users requested data. A Push is distributed as an email in either HTML or PDF. The most frequent types of Pushes are Tickets, Schedules, Alerts, and Bulletins.
Push Types
There are (2) distinct Push types, Periodic and Data Driven.
Periodic Pushes allow you to save an inquiry and have it emailed and/or faxed to you periodically throughout the day. Using 'Smart Dates' such as today and tomorrow allows you to create a query that is timely and that can execute daily without changing the dates.
Data Driven Pushes are emailed and/or faxed to you as the data changes or is added to the user's specific Push criteria.
Creating a Push Option
Step 1: Add a new Push
There are (2) ways to create a Push. You can either utilize the Cogwheel on the T4 Dashboard or the Menu Items located below the Batch Search. We will first go over the Cogwheel method.
Hover over the Cogwheel on the T4 Dashboard.
Once there, click on Auto Reports/Push Options.
The 2nd option is to use the Menu Items located below the Batch Search. Hover over the Menu Items and press Search or click directly on the Menu Item.
Once you press Search, go to the envelope located here:
*Both options will take you to Step 2.
Step 2: Set up the Push
Select which Push you would like to set up and click "ADD". Below you will find an example of what needs to be done to complete set up for a Ticket Push.
Step 3a: Configure a Data Driven Push
Pick and choose the Push criteria. Options will change based on the kind of Push being configured, however, every Push will default to send to all email associated with the username.
To configure a Data Drive Push, the following (6) steps must be taken:
1) Push Category and Type
2) Select either the carrier or ALL
3) Filter Criteria, including Ticket Type, Company, Location, Tankage, Product
4) Selection Summary is an overview of the completed Filter Criteria
5) The Push Name is needed to provide a title to the Push.
6) Recipient List and Send Type. If you do not see the desired email address, please click on Add Recipient and insert new address.
A Push Name and Email Recipient is required for every Push.
Step 3b: Configure a Periodic Push
A Periodic Push allows you to save an inquiry and have it emailed and/or faxed to you periodically throughout the day. The Periodic Push option is available for Schedules, Tickets, Allocations, and PTO's. You will find the option for the Periodic Push underneath the option for the Data Driven Push.
Once you have selected the Periodic Push option and determined the frequency in which you want to receive notifications, you will complete the rest of the Push in the same way you did the Data Driven Push.
